Felicia Elena Friesema is a writer, painter, and photographer living and working in Los Angeles, California. She started sketching and painting local California landscapes in a variety of mediums, including pastels, watercolor, gouache, and acrylic. She was attracted to the depth and deconstructed forms and colors of abstract landscapes, lyrical abstraction, and impressionism. Today, she creates large, tactile abstract landscapes and portals using vivid liquid acrylics and color pallets inspired by her Latinx ancestry, folk art and textiles, and the natural environment.
